Placements24 is seeking a precise Receiving Specialist to manage inbound logistics at our Randburg facility. You will verify deliveries against purchase orders, inspect goods, record data, and ensure accurate put-away. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with inventory systems.

You will work closely with suppliers and transporters to resolve receiving issues and maintain a safe, efficient receiving area.

About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated and precise Receiving Specialist to manage inbound logistics operations at their facility in Randburg . This role is fundamental to ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, documented, and stored. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, identifying discrepancies, and reporting any damages or issues. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of inventory from the moment it arrives. This position is crucial for the efficiency and accuracy of the entire supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Identify, document, and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues with received goods.
• Accurately enter receiving data into the inventory management system and update stock levels.
• Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing within the warehouse.
• Liaise with suppliers and transportation providers to resolve any receiving-related issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Receiving Specialist , Shipping and Receiving Clerk, or in a similar warehouse receiving role.
• Strong understanding of warehouse receiving procedures, inventory control, and documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and inspection.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
