Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd in Gauteng is seeking a Chief Engineer Prof Engineering in Turbomachinery to oversee refurbishment and repair of turbine and generator assets. The role demands strong leadership, extensive technical governance, and alignment with company policies and safety standards.

Travel nationwide is required; the successful candidate will manage a large team of engineers and drive vibration analysis, refurbishment projects, and ISO/OHSAS compliance within the Turbo Gen Services unit.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical field.
• 15 years post graduate engineering experience including 12 years in area of specialization.
• Experience refurbishing/assembling large power generation turbine/generator equipment.
• Vibration monitoring/analysis, balancing, Tribology, Thermography, Laser Alignment, ultrasound testing.
• Experience with ISO standards and OHSA/regulatory requirements.

• Reduce work: Measure and report on Rework vs. Revenue for your department monthly and ensure you reduce rework to less than 0.5% of your turnover

Experience

• 15 years post Graduate Engineering that includes 12 Years experience specifically in the Engineering Aspects related to the specific area of specialization and with above average technical competency and experience in Engineering Aspects related to the area of specialization with ability to function across disciplines
• Experience Specifically related to the refurbishment and assembly on large power Generation steam and gas Turbo generator plant including
• Vibration Monitoring and analysis, multi shaft balancing, Tribology, Thermography, Laser Alignment and ultrasound vibration Testing
• Experience of quality management systems and relevant ISO standards
• Experience of the OHSA, construction Regulations and Environmental Regulation
