Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification is advantageous.

• IFRS for SMEs knowledge, budgeting and forecasting, statutory reporting.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Job description

River Bioscience (Pty) Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a Group Financial Manager to join the team. This role will be responsible for leading the financial management, reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and control functions across the Group. The role ensures the integrity of financial information, supports strategic decision-making, manages financial risks, and drives continuous improvement in financial processes and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the full finance function across all entities within scope, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Provide functional oversight and support to the Financial Controllers of RB and XSIT to ensure consistent Group financial policies and controls.
• Consolidate Group financial results and prepare reporting packs for the CFO and Board of Directors.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across all entities, including NPC-specific compliance for a non-profit company.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial governance, and risk management across the Group.
• Manage annual external financial audit processes and relationships with external auditors for all entities, including composition of the annual financial statements.
• Act as the primary financial point of contact for day-to-day matters, freeing the CFO to focus on strategic and commercial priorities.
• Support the CFO with financial analysis and reporting for strategic initiatives as required.

Requirements:

• BCom Accounting or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification will be beneficial.
• Strategic and commercial thinking with commercial experience in a manufacturing environment will be beneficial.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years commercial experience (preferred).
• IFRS for SMEs knowledge, budgeting and forecasting, statutory reporting, tax exposure.
