Job summary

Hire Resolve’s client in Durban North, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks a Chartered Accountant with strong commercial acumen to lead the Group’s financial management and governance. You will partner with executive management and boards, oversee financial close, budgeting, treasury, tax and statutory reporting, and drive process improvements across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) and professional accounting qualifications required.
• BCom Honours Accounting or Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
• At least 5+ years post-qualification financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs; SA Companies Act and tax legislation.
• Experience leading and developing a finance team.

Responsibilities

Are you a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA) with strong commercial acumen and a passion for turning financial insight into business impact?

Hire Resolve’s Client is looking for an accomplished Finance Manager to take ownership of the financial management of a dynamic Group and play a key role in supporting sustainable growth, sound governance and strategic decision-making.

This is far more than a traditional financial reporting role. You’ll sit at the heart of the business, partnering with Executive Management, the Board, shareholders, lenders and key stakeholders while overseeing a broad Group finance portfolio.

Responsibilities:

You’ll take the lead across:

• Group financial management and reporting across multiple entities
• Monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes
• Management accounts, consolidated reporting and financial statements
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• 13-week cash flow forecasting, treasury and liquidity management
• Banking relationships, funding facilities and financial institutions
• Taxation, VAT, SARS engagements and statutory compliance
• IFRS / IFRS for SMEs and technical accounting
• Financial controls, governance, risk management and audit
• Debtors, creditors, payroll, inventory and fixed asset oversight
• Financial systems, reporting dashboards and process automation
• Financial modelling, investment evaluations and business cases
• Acquisitions, disposals, due diligence and strategic projects
• B-BBEE financial information and tender documentation
• Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, reduce costs and optimise working capital
• Leading, developing and mentoring the finance team

You’ll also provide commercial and strategic financial guidance to management across business decisions, investments, funding, acquisitions and operational improvements.

Requirements:

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical financial expertise and commercial leadership.

Essential:

• CA(SA) – Chartered Accountant
• BCom Honours Accounting, Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting or equivalent
• 5+ years' relevant post-qualification Financial Manager experience
• Proven experience overseeing the financial affairs and reporting requirements of companies
• Strong experience in:

• Experience leading, reviewing and developing a finance team
