Jobgether is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead (Ruby on Rails, AI-Native) for a part-time, fully remote role based in South Africa. You will shape engineering culture, define standards, and guide a four-person distributed team across time zones.

The focus is mentorship, code quality, and sustainable engineering practices rather than coding volume. You will champion AI-native development tools, collaborate with leadership, and promote consistent engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production software systems.
• 6+ years with Ruby on Rails in production.
• Experience leading small engineering teams and establishing standards.
• Strong code-review and architectural judgment.
• Hands-on with AI-native development tools (Cursor, Claude Code).
• Experience in remote-first, distributed teams and cross-country collaboration.
• Available part-time (4–5 hours/day, weekdays).
• Willingness to work flexible UK-aligned hours when needed.
