Job summary

Harsco Rail is seeking a vigilant operations support professional to monitor the safe operation of the OTM fleet and staff. You will support the operations department, maximise contractual obligations, and ensure daily OTM shift reporting to managers.

The role involves coordinating resources, communicating safety-critical information, and adhering to company policies. A proactive, detail-oriented individual with railway experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• IT literate including knowledge of Microsoft systems & other databases.
• Proficient in Excel & Word.
• Safety Critical Communication Experience.
• Railway Experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate safety critical information as required.
• Monitor OTM and staff movements/hours in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure OTMs are resourced as necessary within your remit of control.
• OTM shift reports are collated on a daily basis and sent to relevant parties.
• Reporting any areas of concern to the relevant managers e.g. OTM Faults, crew issues, resources etc.
• Issue safety briefings as required.

• Order and organise resources when required (incl. fuel and water etc.)
• Carry out any short-term planning and arrange VSTP movements
• To be available for work as per roster including night shifts, weekends and on call
• Annual Leave subject to roster pattern
• Adhere to operational policies and procedures
• Deal with safety of the line and operational incidents as required
• To ensure all records & databases are accurate & maintained daily
• Gain and maintain controller’s competence standards
