Job summary

Marvel Placement Consultants is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for mining and industrial projects. You will prepare cost estimates, compile detailed BOQs, and perform MTOs from engineering drawings and project documentation.

You will develop cost models, review tender documents for cost implications, and support tendering, procurement, and project controls. Strong Candy CCS proficiency and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5-6 years of site experience.
• Experience mining, industrial, engineering, or construction environments.
• Proficiency with Candy (CCS).
• Experience compiling detailed BOQs and performing accurate MTOs.
• Strong understanding of estimating methodologies and resource planning.
• Excellent Excel skills.

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
• Compile comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) with high detail and accuracy.
• Perform Material Take-Offs (MTOs) from drawings and project docs.
• Estimate and quantify all project costs including labour, materials, plant, and indirect costs.
• Develop and maintain project cost models and estimate databases.
• Review drawings, specs, and tender docs for cost implications and risks.
• Support tendering, procurement, and project controls activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to maintain cost accuracy.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. 5-6 Years Site experience. Intermediate-level Quantity Surveying experience within mining, industrial, engineering, or construction environments. Excellent working knowledge of Candy (CCS) is essential. Proven experience compiling detailed BOQs and performing accurate Material Take-Offs. Strong understanding of estimating methodologies, productivity rates, and resource planning. Ability to estimate complete project costs, including labour, equipment, materials, and indirect costs. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Compile comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) with a high level of detail and accuracy. Perform Material Take-Offs (MTOs) from engineering drawings and project documentation. Estimate and quantify all project-related costs, including: Materials Labour and man-hours Plant and equipment Subcontractor costs Temporary works Logistics and transport Site establishment and indirect costs Develop and maintain project cost models and estimate databases. Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to identify cost implications and potential risks. Support tendering, procurement, and project controls activities as required. Work closely with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure cost accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
