Job summary

Schlemmer is seeking a Quality Control Assistant to join our manufacturing team in a fast-paced environment. You will perform inspections across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures.

The role requires at least 3 years in QA within manufacturing, proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Syspro preferred), and a keen eye for detail. Rotating day/night shifts and overtime may apply; own transport is preferred.

Qualifications

• Matric (Mathematics preferred).
• Minimum 3 years' quality control experience.
• Manufacturing experience is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using ERP systems such as Syspro will be advantageous.
• Experience with quality management software is beneficial.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, overtime, and standby when required.
• Own reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections on raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
• Ensure all products comply with company quality standards and procedures.
• Verify that the correct materials are issued to production jobs.
• Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process and identify non-conformances.
• Perform tensile and torque testing on products.
• Control and issue production labels and signed standards.
• Maintain quality control documentation, SOPs, and AQL checklists.
• Scan completed jobs and update quality records accurately.
• Report quality incidents and assist with investigations where required.
• Work closely with production teams to minimise quality-related delays.
• Participate in stock takes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the Quality Control Manager with daily quality assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, systems, and quality procedures.
