Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Quality Control Analyst for our Mossel Bay client’s laboratory. You will perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products, using HPLC, GC and UV-Vis, and document results to GLP and GMP standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in a Quality Control laboratory environment, preferably pharmaceutical.
• Proficiency with HPLC, GC, and dissolution instruments.
• Familiarity with GMP and GLP principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis.
• Accurately document all test results, deviations, and observations in accordance with GLP and GMP.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and samples for testing procedures.
• Review and interpret analytical data, reporting any OOS results to the Quality Assurance department.

About the Role

You will perform a variety of chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, meticulously documenting results to meet stringent regulatory standards. Working within a modern, well-equipped facility, you will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance that our client is known for, playing a key part in safeguarding public health and ensuring product integrity within this scenic coastal region.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products using various laboratory techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis).
• Accurately document all test results, deviations, and observations in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and GMP.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and samples for testing procedures.
• Review and interpret analytical data, reporting any Out-of-Specification (OOS) results to the Quality Assurance department.
• Participate in method validation and transfer activities as required.
