Job summary

Würth South Africa Co. (Pty) Ltd is actively seeking a Purchaser to procure goods and manage supplier relationships, ensuring accurate and efficient purchasing processes that support operational needs.

The role requires a post-matric qualification in SCM or related field and 2–3 years direct purchasing experience, with strong negotiation, analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills. This is an on-site role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Post matric qualification in SCM or business administration or financial management.
• 2-3 years of direct purchasing, MR P experience.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes.
• Proficiency in SAP and ERP.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods or components in line with specified costs, quality and delivery targets.
• Placing of purchase orders and follow up on outstanding orders on daily basis to ensure continuous supply of required goods.
• Maintain clear communication with all relevant parties: suppliers, goods receiving department, sales, clearing agencies, purchasing and finance department.
• Adhere and comply to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
• Accurate record keeping for all cost saving going forward (3% savings).
• Negotiate prices and terms of business with suppliers.
• Assess and evaluate suppliers for performance and contract compliance.
• Ensure that goods receipt or booking in of stock is done accurately and in time.
• All goods receipted must balance back to the invoice or costing.
• Supplier invoices and shipments file to be handed to finance for payment.
• Resolve supplier queries within the required timeframe.
• Responsible for the service degree – 95.5%.
• Article maintenance to be done regularly.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Post matric qualification in supply chain management or business administration or financial management
• 2-3 years of experience in direct purchasing, material requirements planning (MRP)
• Good understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
