Job summary

Vineyard, Oude Werf and Stellenbosch Hotels by Petousis in Newlands, Cape Town, is seeking three Public Areas Attendants to maintain spotless public areas and support housekeeping and laundry teams. The positions are hourly paid, with shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

You will ensure clean lobbies, stairways, restrooms and entrances, report issues promptly, and uphold safety standards while delivering friendly guest service.

Qualifications

• Matric (NQF Level 4) is required.
• Shift work including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Previous experience in a similar role (housekeeping, janitorial, or public area cleaning) is advantageous but not essential
• Satisfactory criminal record, subject to assessment of the nature, severity, relevance, and recency of any offence

Responsibilities

• Keep all guest areas like lobbies, hallways, elevators, and entrances clean, neat, and welcoming always.
• Clean public restrooms regularly and make sure they always have enough toilet paper, soap, and towels.
• Report any broken items, spills, or safety problems to your supervisor right away.
• Be friendly and helpful to guests in public areas and answer simple questions politely.
• Use cleaning tools and products safely and the right way, following hotel rules.
• Complete daily cleaning tasks on time, including both regular and deep cleaning jobs.
