Responsibilities

• Monitor cash flow and coordinate internal banking transfers.
• Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Process and release invoices, including VAT payments.
• Manage purchase orders and supplier payment processes.
• Maintain supplier relationships and prepare supplier reconciliations.
• Capture and allocate invoices and property-related costs accurately.
• Ensure tenant income is recorded accurately and timely.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and rolling forecasts.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Perform utility reconciliations and provide variance explanations.
• Assist with external audits and resolve audit queries.
• Manage VAT calculations, VAT201 and SARS submissions.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and financial controls.
• Assist with SARS queries and audit recommendations.

Property Accountant required inMidrand, Johannesburg.

A leading property investment and development organisation is looking for a Property Accountant to join its finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial administration and accounting of a portfolio of properties, supporting the Financial Manager and Financial Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, reporting and controls.

Salary: R40 000 CTC - R47 000 per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor cash flow and coordinate internal banking transfers.
• Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Process and release invoices, including VAT payments.
• Manage purchase orders and supplier payment processes.
• Maintain supplier relationships and prepare supplier reconciliations.
• Capture and allocate invoices and property-related costs accurately.
• Ensure tenant income is accurately and timeously recorded.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and monthly rolling forecasts.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Perform utility reconciliations and provide variance explanations.
• Assist with external audits and resolve audit queries.
• Manage the VAT function, including monthly VAT calculations, VAT201 returns and submissions to SARS.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal policies and financial controls.
• Assist with resolving SARS queries and implementing audit recommendations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting Sciences.
• NQF Level 6/7.
• 2-3 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
• Previous property accounting experience will be highly advantageous.
• Experience within the property and/or construction industry will be advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy and accounting package proficiency.
• Good financial and business acumen.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Strong sense of accountability, integrity and collaboration.
