Accountant – Student Portfolio

An established and growing property investment organisation is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join its Student Portfolio finance team. This role is suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working across multiple entities, and has strong financial reporting and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting and financial processing activities across multiple entities within the student accommodation portfolio.
- Import, reconcile, and maintain financial information from various systems within the accounting platform.
- Prepare monthly Management Accounts and supporting schedules.
- Analyse actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying and explaining variances.
- Prepare VAT calculations and reconciliations and assist with responding to tax authority queries.
- Compile annual audit files and provide support during audit processes.
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts and monitor cash flow performance.
- Prepare tax computations and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and review Annual Financial Statements.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial controls.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Accounting qualification; Accounting Degree advantageous.
- 2–3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
- Experience within the property, real estate, or related industry will be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of MDA or similar property management/accounting software advantageous.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
