Job summary

Profile Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Projects/Contracts Manager to take ownership of projects from tender and pricing through to construction, completion and handover. You will oversee drywall, ceilings, partitioning and interior finishes with a strong focus on cost control and subcontractor management.

The role requires reading and interpreting drawings, preparing BOQs and quotations, and coordinating site operations to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing construction projects involving drywall, ceilings, partitioning and interior finishes.
• Strong practical knowledge of commercial building finishes, shopfitting and interior fit-outs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Proven ability to complete independent take-offs, assess quantities and prepare or review BOQs and quotations.
• Strong commercial, contractual, budgeting and cost-control skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, procurement and site operations.
• Excellent planning, negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and take full accountability for delivery.
• Experience in commercial construction, tenant installations, retail, warehouses or office fit-outs will be advantageous.
• Relevant industry experience and a proven track record of successful project delivery will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from tender and procurement through to construction, completion and handover.
• Interpret drawings and specs; prepare material and labour take-offs.
• Prepare and review BOQs, quotations, pricing and scopes of work.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams for effective delivery.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, programmes and workmanship.
• Coordinate drywall, ceilings, partitioning and interior finishing trades.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations, negotiate pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Identify variations, contractual risks and potential overruns.
• Oversee procurement and ensure timely material delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve construction challenges; manage snagging and handover.
• Maintain project documentation and communicate with clients, consultants, architects and contractors.
