Job summary

Tumaini Consulting seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead interior fit-out projects from concept to completion in a retail/interiors environment. The ideal candidate will balance design intent with practical construction delivery and manage budgets, timelines and on-site quality.

With at least 8 years in project management, you will coordinate teams, contractors and consultants, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to standards throughout all project phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ project management experience in retail, commercial interiors, or fit-outs.
• Qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Building Science, or related field.
• Experience managing contractors, budgets, timelines and on-site delivery.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, interiors, finishes, materials and drawings.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, planning and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage interior fit-out projects from planning and design coordination to handover.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and internal design teams.
• Develop project schedules, monitor budgets and ensure deadlines.
• Oversee on-site activities for quality, safety and compliance with specs.
• Identify project risks and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects meet design standards and client expectations.

Our client is looking for a seasoned professional with at least 8 years of experience, ideally in retail and interior fit-outs, to manage projects from concept through to completion.
