Placements24 is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee the Software Development Lifecycle for new product development in Port Elizabeth. You will lead software projects from conception through deployment and maintenance, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and high quality.

The role requires deep knowledge of software development processes, strong leadership, and the ability to manage diverse technical teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in project management for software development.
• Experience leading projects through the full SDLC.
• Proficiency with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, technologies, and tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of the SDLC from requirements to maintenance.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate communication between development teams, QA, product management, and stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues that affect delivery.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and QA processes.
• Track progress and provide status updates to management.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of the SDLC , including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for software development projects.
• Coordinate and facilitate communication between development teams, QA, product management, and other stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
• Track project progress using appropriate tools and provide regular status updates to management.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in Project Management , with a strong focus on software development projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects through the entire SDLC .
• Proficiency in Agile or Scrum methodologies and experience managing projects using these frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, technologies, and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
