Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead renewable energy initiatives in the Mahikeng, North West region. You will oversee the full lifecycle from feasibility through to handover, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to deliver sustainable energy projects.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years in renewable energy project management, deep tech knowledge, and strong leadership and communication skills to navigate regulatory environments and stakeholder

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee renewable energy projects in the Mahikeng, North West region. This role is critical for managing the development and implementation of solar, wind, or other sustainable energy initiatives. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and site selection through to construction, commissioning, and handover. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and stakeholder environments, driving impactful projects that contribute to a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and successful completion of renewable energy projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and stakeholder consultations.
• Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor project performance, manage project finances, and provide regular status reports.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with a focus on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.).
• Proven experience managing projects from inception to commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Environmental Science, or a related field; PMP certification is a plus.
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and ensure project alignment with community and environmental goals.
