About the Role

Our client, a well-established financial institution based in Benoni, Gauteng , is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the implementation of new financial systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth transition to updated software and platforms that will enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities within the finance department. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing IT projects, particularly within the financial services sector, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. You will be responsible for managing the project lifecycle, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring that implementations are completed on time, within budget, and meet all functional requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of financial system implementation projects, from planning and design to execution and post-implementation support.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, Finance, Compliance) and external software vendors.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure that all project deliverables meet the specified business and technical requirements.
• Facilitate regular project status meetings and provide comprehensive reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure successful system deployment and user training.
• Adhere to project management best practices and company governance standards.
• Manage change requests and ensure that project scope is controlled effectively.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a strong focus on implementing financial systems or related IT projects.
• Proven experience in the financial services industry is essential.
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
