Job summary

Hitachi Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd in Modderfontein, Gauteng, seeks a Project/Program Manager to drive delivery from order entry to commissioning and ensure customer satisfaction for repeat business.

You will lead the execution of High Voltage Orders in South Africa, monitor KPIs, manage frame contracts, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and financial targets while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, or equivalent with strong technical background.
• Experience in High Voltage Industry with exposure to Project Management in South Africa.
• Project Executed in under EPC adds an advantage.
• Strong leadership and ability to lead teams and persuade stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure to deliver projects on time, within cost and quality.
• SAP or ERP platform knowledge is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and capacity to translate lessons learned into processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful execution of High Voltage Orders booked in South Africa.
• Monitor and achieve KPIs including Revenue, Cash Flow, Inventory, On-time Delivery, Customer Satisfaction.
• Manage Frame Contract with utilities Customer and ensure on-time completion of Projects.
• Ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy policies, contracts, quality, health, safety and environment targets.
• Build strong relationships with customers and drive satisfaction through timely project delivery.
• Conduct project reviews with factory management and Project Managers to ensure contract fulfilment.
• Identify risks, negotiate, and resolve escalated issues raised by customers.
• Ensure portfolio follows internal procedures and that projects close per contracts.
• Coordinate customer requests related to execution or additional needs that could lead to additional sales.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations and guidelines.

To ensure customer satisfaction through effective project management and delivering results from order entry to project commissioning that ensure repeatable customer business.

How you'll make an impact

• Leading the successful execution of High Voltage Orders booked in South Africa.

• Ensure that all order execution related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety and environment requirements, financial targets as well as schedule commitments.
• Build up strong relations with customers and manage customer satisfaction by on time execution of projects.
• Project reviews with factory management and factory Project Managers to ensure contract fulfilment.
• Take an active role in identifying risks, negotiating and resolving escalated issues especially those raised by the customer.
• To ensure that the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and that projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.
• Lead the coordination of any customer request whether they are related to execution or additional requests to projects which lead for additional sales.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, or equivalent with strong technical background
• Experience in High Voltage Industry with exposure to Project Management in South Africa.
• Project Executed in under EPC added advantage
• Possess strong leadership skills and ability to lead the team and convince stakeholders in the interest of the project.
• Ability to work under pressure to deliver the projects with time, cost, and quality.
• Experience of SAP or another ERP platform knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in project deliverables.
• Capability to develop work practices and to take lessons learned and implement them into the processes.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines and excellent collaboration and work with cross functional and cross-cultural team.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and challenges.
