Job summary

cpconsulting is seeking an experienced PMO Manager to oversee allocated IT and Insure IT projects within a governance framework in Sandton, Gauteng. You will manage project planning, stakeholder engagement, and delivery across multiple teams, ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met.

The role requires 5–8 years in mature PMO/business management, a formal PM qualification, and experience with PM tools like JIRA.

Qualifications

  • Matric and formal PM qualification (Prince2/IPMA/PMP/PMI-ACP).
  • B Comm – Information (or equivalent).
  • 5–8 years' experience in mature PMO/business management/business consulting.
  • Insurance experience bonus (FAIS, Short Term Insurance knowledge).
  • Proven track record using PM tools (e.g. JIRA).

Responsibilities

  • PMO management and technical execution of projects per PMO strategy.
  • Secure stakeholder understanding and buy-in.
  • Support the PMO Head in meeting departmental targets.
  • Maintain project submission/approval admin and pipeline of approved projects.
  • Collaborate with BIOs, IT Ops, IT Quality and delivery teams on evaluation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with PM methodology and governance processes.
  • Manage interdependencies with other project/programme managers.
  • Lead project delivery with detailed plans, testing and sign-off.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly consolidated reports and budgets.
  • Foster stakeholder relationships and resolve conflicts.
  • Monitor risks, governance and QA; maintain audit-standard docs.
  • Drive benefits realisation and post-project reviews.

Job description

Purpose: Responsible for managing allocated Insure IT projects in line with the PMO Governance Framework, ensuring projects are delivered using a best-practice approach within agreed scope, time, cost and quality — while enhancing the company's image through effective customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • PMO Management & Technical Expertise Manage/execute projects per PMO strategy and process framework
  • Secure stakeholder understanding and buy-in
  • Support the PMO Head in meeting departmental targets
  • Manage project submission/approval administration and maintain a pipeline of approved projects
  • Work with BIOs, IT Ops, IT Quality, and delivery teams to build evaluation systems at project level
  • Ensure compliance with Project Management Methodology and Governance processes
  • Manage interdependencies with other project/programme managers
  • Project Delivery Create detailed project/implementation plans Document and agree requirements Attend Project Board/Steering Committee meetings Participate in reviews, approvals, and gating processes Ensure appropriate testing (system, regression, UAT) with stakeholder sign-off
  • Reporting & Consolidation Submit project performance data for internal reporting Provide monthly/quarterly consolidated reports Report on budget vs. actual, governance matters, risks, progress, resourcing, and benefits Maintain project plans, minutes, and status reports Schedule regular feedback sessions
  • Relationship Management Build and maintain stakeholder relationships Resolve conflicts with project teams/stakeholders
  • Risk, Governance & QA Ensure risk management aligns with risk registers and controls Maintain audit-standard documentation Record, monitor, and proactively manage risks/issues/dependencies
  • Financials & Benefits Realisation Monitor budgets against project plans with Hollard Insure teams Track benefits realisation vs. targets Participate in post-project reviews and lessons-learnt exercises
  • People & Customer Service Own career growth/development Maintain high service standards; treat all customers fairly (TCF)
Requirements:
