Job summary

Falcorp Resourcing seeks an IT Project Manager to lead moderate to highly complex programs, spanning multiple related projects, in a financial services context (Savings/Investments/Employee Benefits/Retirement Annuities). You will oversee project scope, budgets and schedules, providing strategic direction and leadership to teams.

Responsibilities include risk management, quality planning, change control, and regular stakeholder reporting.

Qualifications

• BSc degree (NQF 7) required or equivalent.
• Professional accreditation in programme or project management (e.g. Agile, Prince2, MSP, PMP) is preferred.
• Solid direct knowledge of project management methodologies.
• At least 5 years of experience in managing complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for definition, documentation and completion of small- to medium-scale projects.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks.
• Ensure realistic project and quality plans; provide regular reports to stakeholders.
• Maintain quality reviews on schedule and ensure procedures are followed.
• Lead the project team and address performance variances.
• Ensure business view on delivering new tech capabilities and migration planning.
• Drive business implementation plans and align sites to the overall program.
• Track activities and report progress against the plan.
• Define actions to realize the business case after delivery.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication and change decision processes.

We are looking for a mature, energetic, well-organized and highly capable IT Project Manager who will be responsible for the management of moderate to highly complex programs consisting of multiple related projects. Oversee major projects, providing strategic context, direction and leadership to the teams involved. Monitor project execution plans, resource deployment and overall coordination efforts to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to budget.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Manager Responsibilities:

1. Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and satisfactory completion of small- to medium-scale projects.
2. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.
3. Ensures that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and provides regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
4. Ensures that quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure.
5. Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets and are signed off.
6. Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes appropriate action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
7. Ensures that there is a business perspective on how the new technical capabilities will be delivered to the business, including planning around key business cycles, selecting appropriate customers for migration, etc.
8. Initiates the business implementation plan, including all the activities that the business needs to do to prepare for new technical components and technologies.
9. Drives sites to deliver site implementation plans and align with the overall plan.
10. Tracks and reports against these activities to ensure progress.
11. Defines and manages the activities to ensure achievement of the business case after delivery.
12. Outlines key business engagement messages that need to take place throughout the programme/project.
13. Develops and manages one or more defined communication channels and/or stakeholder groups.
14. Initiates communications between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact for defined groups.
15. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders.
16. Captures and disseminates technical and business information.
17. Facilitates the business change decision-making processes and the planning and implementation of change.

• Project Management experience gained in a complex Savings/Investments/Employee Benefits/Retirement Annuities
• At least 5 years of experience working on complex projects.
• Appropriate professional accreditation in Programme and or Project Management (e.g. Agile, Prince2, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), PMP - PMBOK certification)
• Solid direct knowledge of project management methodologies.
