Job summary

Inuka Partners seeks a Project Electrical Engineer to support utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects in the renewable energy sector in Cape Town. You will contribute to feasibility studies, electrical design, and coordination across engineering and project delivery teams.

The role requires a degree in electrical/electro-mechanical engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with PVSyst and AutoCAD, and fluency in English and Arabic to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in electrical or electromechanical engineering in renewable energy projects.
• Experience with high-voltage networks, substations, and utility-scale solar PV.
• Proficiency with PVSyst, AutoCAD, and weather datasets.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary and detailed energy yield assessments for feasibility.
• Develop technical specifications and electrical system design.
• Review documentation, PPAs, grid codes, and connection agreements.
• Coordinate with utilities, contractors, and internal teams.
• Support site visits, testing, commissioning, and project close-out.
• Monitor implementation during construction.
