Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Project Chemical Engineer to manage capital projects in the chemical processing division. The role is remote with potential site visits to Pretoria, covering conception through closeout.

You will lead planning, design, procurement, and construction, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to budget and specs. You will manage risks, coordinate with vendors, and oversee installation and commissioning while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in project engineering/management in chemicals.
• Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera and regulatory standards.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly organized and results-oriented Project Chemical Engineer to manage and execute capital projects within their chemical processing division, based remotely but with potential site visits to Pretoria. This role demands a strong understanding of project management methodologies combined with robust chemical engineering expertise to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from conception and planning through to execution and closeout. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, procurement, and construction phases of chemical engineering projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.

• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements
