About the Role

Our client, a dynamic architectural practice based in Nelspruit , is seeking an experienced Project Architect to manage the design and execution of commercial and retail projects. This role is integral to delivering high-quality, innovative architectural solutions that meet client objectives and market demands within Mpumalanga . The Project Architect will oversee projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and design standards. We are looking for a professional with a strong understanding of commercial design principles, excellent client management skills, and a proven ability to lead project teams effectively. The role involves close collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and local authorities. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for commercial and retail projects, from initial concept to final handover.
• Develop detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring timely and cost-efficient delivery.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical engineers, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Liaise directly with clients to understand their needs, present design proposals, and provide regular project updates.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent qualification.
• Professional Architect registration with SACAP is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in architectural practice, with a strong focus on commercial and retail design.
• Demonstrated experience in managing architectural projects from inception to completion.
• Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
• Solid understanding of building regulations, planning laws, and construction methodologies in South Africa.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with strong negotiation abilities.
