Placements24 seeks an accomplished Architectural Project Manager to oversee design and construction of commercial and retail spaces in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will guide projects from concept to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence and high-quality standards.

You will lead design teams, coordinate with engineers and contractors, and manage schedules, risks and stakeholder communications to realize the client’s architectural vision.

Formación

• Registered Professional Architect with SACAP or equivalent professional body.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience focused on commercial/retail development.
• Proven ability to lead multiple projects from concept to completion.
• Proficiency in architectural design software and project tools.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage the architectural design process for commercial and retail projects.
• Coordinate and collaborate with external architectural firms, engineers, and consultants.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for architectural services.
• Oversee the preparation of design development documents, construction drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure all architectural designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and company standards.
• Manage the tendering and procurement process for architectural and construction services.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to design intent.
• Liaise with clients, tenants, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project progression.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively resolving design and construction challenges.
• Prepare progress reports and project documentation for senior management.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic property development company, is seeking an accomplished Architectural Project Manager to oversee the design and construction of innovative commercial and retail spaces in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. This crucial role involves managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring that architectural visions are realized on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be the primary point of contact for design teams, contractors, and stakeholders, coordinating all architectural aspects of development. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills, with a proven track record in delivering successful commercial and retail developments in South Africa. This position offers the opportunity to shape significant commercial landscapes in a growing region.

Requirements

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience in the Western Cape property market is advantageous.
• A degree in Architecture or a related field is required.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate project teams.
