Job summary

Shift Pursuit in Stellenbosch seeks a Senior Architect with strong Revit skills and a track record delivering large‑scale mixed‑use, residential and healthcare projects from design to construction. You will lead project teams, coordinate submissions, and ensure high-quality technical documentation across disciplines.

The successful candidate will have 5–10 years of post-graduate experience, proficiency in Revit (certification advantageous), and solid site-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Represent the practice at project briefing meetings.
• Interpret client briefs and produce accurate sketch illustrations in Revit.
• Assist with graphic-design work and presentation material.
• Assist with the 3D visualisation of project proposals.
• Produce detailed working drawings coordinated with other professional disciplines.
• Prepare and coordinate council-submission documentation, including SDP and building-plan submissions.
• Attend site meetings and identify and resolve technical or construction-related issues.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
• Manage multiple residential and architectural projects from initiation through to completion.
• Coordinate project teams and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Guide and monitor team members to meet deadlines.
• Apply sound judgement in resolving problems and making project-related decisions.
• Maintain accurate project records and high standard of technical documentation.

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled architectural professional with advanced Revit capabilities and a strong background in delivering large-scale mixed-use, residential and complex healthcare projects from initial design through to construction.

Key Performance Areas:

• Represent the practice at project briefing meetings.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in architecture (M.Arch).

Experience and technical skills:

• Between 5 and 10 years’ post-graduate architectural experience.
• Experience with large-scale mixed-use and complex healthcare buildings would be advantageous.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, with certification being advantageous.
• Applicants may be required to complete a Revit assessment as part of the selection process.
• Ability to produce architectural sketches in Revit and by hand.
• Intermediate knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Intermediate proficiency in 3D visualisation software.
• Advanced knowledge of council documentation and submission processes.
• Advanced technical detailing and construction-documentation skills.
• Strong site-administration and project-management experience.
• Excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team.
• Proven ability to manage workflows, resources, deadlines and team members.
