Job summary

Vish Services (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg is seeking an SACAP registered Architect to lead architectural work on multiple property developments on a 2-year renewable contract. The role requires strong leadership, teamwork, and ability to manage project scope.

The successful candidate will oversee design workshops, collaborate with planners and consultants, and ensure designs meet codes, sustainability standards, and client objectives.

Qualifications

• Professional SACAP registration is required.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• 2–6 years of architectural design and construction experience.
• Experience on medium to large projects such as schools, hospitals, clinics, residential or commercial developments.
• Proficiency in Revit and strong coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical aspects of the full architectural process and engage with the development team on design and management of multiple property developments.
• Produce schematic plans, concept designs, feasibility layouts, and technical specifications.
• Evaluate development sites for design potential, zoning compliance, and investment viability.
• Collaborate with town planners, project professionals, consultants and local authorities.
• Manage planning approvals and building permit submissions.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, sustainability standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Coordinate external architectural firms when required.
• Drive value engineering while maintaining design quality and commercial objectives.
• Support construction teams during build phases with design resolutions.
• Review and approve drawings, materials, and finishes.
• Present design concepts to internal teams, investors, and stakeholders.

Vish Services (Pty) Ltd is looking for an only SACAP Professionally registered Architect to oversee various of our projects on a 2 year renewable contract. To be the first point-of-call for Architecture on the project. The candidate should excel in teamwork, be highly organised and able to define the project scope.

Role Description

This is a full-time, office-based Architectural role located in Sandton. The Professional Architect must be:

• Insights to grow and developthe technical aspects of anin-house architectural department to manage multiple property developments simultaneously.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Professional registration with SACAP as a Professional Architect and not CANDIDATE
• Master’s degree in Architecture or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Between 2 - 6 years of architectural experience across stages of design and construction.
• Experience working on medium to large-sized projects such as schools, hospitals, clinics, residential or commercial developments.
• Possess strong design, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to staying informed on the latest architectural technologies, materials, and sustainability practices.
• Proficiency in the use of Autodesk Revit for project development; we are a Revit office and use this software to its full capabilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) and Bluebeam.
• Well-developed organizational skills, and the ability and experience to prioritize tasks and act independently.
• Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
• Desire to work and collaborate with global teams.
