Placements24 is seeking a Production Systems Engineer in Benoni to design, implement and continuously improve production systems. The role focuses on maximizing efficiency, throughput and product quality through engineering best practices and close collaboration with production teams.

The ideal candidate will analyze complex production lines, solve problems, and drive operational excellence through Lean methods and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in production engineering or manufacturing operations.
• Solid understanding of production systems, manufacturing processes and quality control principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize production systems and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
• Implement and manage Lean Manufacturing techniques (5S, Kanban, value stream mapping) to enhance output.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for consistent performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality control and operations to support product launches and process improvements.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation and training materials for production staff.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve production capabilities in Benoni.

Key Responsibilities
