Placements24 is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for its Benoni site to lead daily manufacturing operations in a high-volume automotive environment. Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor in automotive manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of lean principles (5S, Kaizen, JIT).
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality systems is advantageous.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse workforce and optimize resources.
• Experience with production planning, scheduling and MES is desirable.
• High school diploma required; technical education/certifications are a plus.
• On-site work in Benoni, Gauteng is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all aspects of daily production activities on assigned lines. Ensure production targets for volume, quality, and efficiency are consistently met. Lead, train, and motivate a team of production operators to achieve peak performance. Implement and enforce lean manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement. Monitor production processes, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions promptly. Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and workplace health regulations. Maintain high standards of product quality and implement quality control measures. Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain departments to ensure smooth operations. Manage shift scheduling and allocate resources effectively. Accurately record production data and prepare shift reports.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the automotive manufacturing sector. Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, JIT). Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949) is a significant advantage. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce. Proficiency in production planning and scheduling. Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) is desirable. High school diploma required; further technical education or certification is a plus. Must be able to work full-time on-site in Benoni, Gauteng .
