About the Role

Our client, a reputable pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join their growing team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This critical role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely scheduling of all production activities to meet demand while optimizing resource utilization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production planning principles, inventory management, and the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless operations in Nelspruit . We are looking for a proactive individual who can manage complex production schedules and contribute to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Monitor production progress against schedules and proactively address any deviations or potential delays.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure adherence to all regulatory and quality standards.
• Optimize production runs to minimize changeover times and maximize efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production records and generate reports on production performance, inventory levels, and schedule adherence.
• Communicate production schedules and updates to relevant departments, including production floor staff and management.
• Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in planning and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other relevant pharmaceutical regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in production planning, preferably within the pharmaceutical or a highly regulated manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and ERP systems.
