Production Manager
Location: West Rand, Gauteng
Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 CTC per month

About the Role
A well-established meat processing and manufacturing company on the West Rand is seeking an experienced production manager to oversee daily factory operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production output, ensuring food safety and quality standards, leading production teams, and driving operational efficiency within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and oversee daily production activities.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Lead, supervise and develop production staff.
- Monitor production efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Manage production schedules, labour allocation and resource planning.
- Monitor product quality and minimise waste.
- Liaise with Maintenance, Quality and Warehouse departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Compile daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
- Control production costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Ensure all company policies and standard operating procedures are followed.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Relevant qualification in Production Management, Operations Management, Food Technology or a related field will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ production management experience within a meat processing or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality management systems.
- Proven experience managing production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office; ERP systems advantageous).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
