Job summary

Professional Resources Partners Pty Ltd in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily factory operations at the West Rand site. You will manage production output, ensure food safety and quality, and lead production teams to meet targets in a high-volume environment.

The role focuses on planning, scheduling, continuous improvement, and coordinating with maintenance, quality and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations and cost-effective production.

Qualifications

• Matric and relevant qualification in production management or related field advised.
• Minimum 5 years’ production management experience in meat/food manufacturing.
• Strong HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality management knowledge.
• Experience leading production teams in high-volume environments.
• Proficient in MS Office; ERP experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and oversee daily production activities.

Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 CTC per month

About the Role

A well-established meat processing and manufacturing company on the West Rand is seeking an experienced production manager to oversee daily factory operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production output, ensuring food safety and quality standards, leading production teams, and driving operational efficiency within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and oversee daily production activities.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines are achieved.
• Lead, supervise and develop production staff.
• Monitor production efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Manage production schedules, labour allocation and resource planning.
• Monitor product quality and minimise waste.
• Liaise with Maintenance, Quality and Warehouse departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Compile daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
• Control production costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Ensure all company policies and standard operating procedures are followed.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Relevant qualification in Production Management, Operations Management, Food Technology or a related field will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ production management experience within a meat processing or food manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality management systems.
• Proven experience managing production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Office; ERP systems advantageous).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
