Prostaff Holdings seeks a Production Manager with an A Grade 12 and a Packaging or Engineering degree to oversee extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting and conversion production areas. You will lead teams, implement cost-efficient strategies, and drive continuous improvements in line with WCM and GMP standards.

You will manage maintenance, safety, waste reduction and planning, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and BRC. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Formación

• A Grade 12 with a degree or diploma in Packaging or Engineering is required.
• Experience in Production Management within Flexible Packaging or related industries is preferred.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills; computer literate.

Responsabilidades

• Managing planning, organizing and controlling activities in extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting and conversion production departments.
• Leading and motivating personnel within the sphere of responsibility.
• Developing and implementing a Production strategy to drive down costs and improve efficiencies (WCM/GMP).
• Owning continuous improvement and improving overall department efficiency.
• Ensuring maintenance plan adherence and continuous improvement.
• Motivating teams and delivering projects within budget.
• Reconciling material usage and reducing waste; implementing waste-reduction measures.
• Ensuring safety within ISO 9001 and BRC systems.
• Reducing customer complaints from production inefficiencies.
• Ensuring effective production planning and scheduling; complying with SHERQ standards.

Minimum requirements for the role:

A Grade 12 with a degree or diploma in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Operations Management or related is required for the role. Previous experience having worked within a Production Management role within the Flexible Packaging and/or Extrusion / Lamination / Flexo Graphic Industries is preferred. Must have strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills. Must be able to manage multiple production processes simultaneously, and to utilise resources effectively and efficiently in a deadline-oriented environment. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Computer literate and proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and related software programs.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and overseeing the planning, organising, and controlling of all activities within the extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting and conversion production departments.
• Leading, encouraging and motivating personnel within the sphere of responsibility.
• Developing and implementing a Production strategy to drive down costs and improve overall efficiencies in line with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices as well as applying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Taking ownership and the management of the continuous improvement of the Production departments as well as improving the overall efficiency of the Production departments.
• Ensuring that an effective maintenance plan is adhered to and continuously improved.
• Successfully motivating teams and implementing projects within budget.
• Reconciling production material usage and accounting for waste, while implementing proactive measures to reduce waste generated within the Production departments.
• Ensuring responsibility for safety requirements within the ISO 9001 and BRC systems.
• Reducing customer complaints resulting from production inefficiencies.
• Ensuring effective production planning and scheduling.
• Complying with Safety, Health, Environment and Risk standards.
