Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Production Line Technician for a leading advanced materials manufacturer in Polokwane, Limpopo. This hands-on role operates, maintains, and troubleshoots specialized production machinery to ensure consistent output of high-quality materials.

You will perform routine maintenance, calibrations, quality checks, and setup/changeovers, while adhering to safety regulations and supporting continuous improvement with engineering and supervision.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Production Line Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with complex machinery.
• Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Commitment to workplace safety and procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation to reach the facility in Polokwane.
• Technical certification or vocational training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor specialized production machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and minor repairs on production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet specified standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and operational issues that arise on the production line.
• Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality data.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Assist in the setup and changeover of production lines for different product runs.
• Work collaboratively with engineering and supervisory staff to implement process improvements.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on achieving production goals in Polokwane.
