Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Production Chemical Engineer for our Benoni-based manufacturing team. The role focuses on optimizing daily production operations to meet efficiency, quality and safety targets.

You will work with operators and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvements in chemical production in Gauteng. The ideal candidate has a Chemical Engineering degree with 2–4 years in a chemical manufacturing environment, strong process understanding, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
2–4 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment within the chemical industry.
Solid understanding of chemical plant operations, process control and safety procedures.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma and data-driven problem solving.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze production processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and yield.
Troubleshoot operational problems and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
Develop and update SOPs for production processes.
Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure equipment reliability and product quality.
Implement process improvements to enhance safety and reduce costs.
Train plant operators on new procedures and process changes.
