Job summary

Network Finance invites applications for a Senior Accountant role in Gauteng, focusing on month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and IFRS/VAT compliance, leveraging SAP and Excel to improve financial performance and internal controls.

Strong stakeholder engagement, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• BCom Degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' full accounting and reporting experience.
• 3 to 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in mill/plant/factory/FMCG/industrial manufacturing is non-negotiable.
• Advanced SAP experience essential.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong management accounting and cost accounting experience.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and VAT requirements.
• Inventory and stock control experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily weighbridge, dispatch, and cost of sales reconciliations.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls.
• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary on operational performance.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Monitor and report on manufacturing costs and cost centre performance.
• Ensure accurate inventory accounting, cycle counts, and month-end stock counts.
• Investigate and report stock variances and discrepancies.
• Process journals, fixed assets, and stock transactions within SAP.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and VAT legislation.
• Partner with production and engineering teams to improve financial performance.
• Lead and participate in performance review meetings with operational stakeholders.
