Job summary

Port Elizabeth-based Product Readiness Engineer role in the automotive manufacturing industry, for a permanent position in Port Elizabeth. Salary is commensurate with qualification and experience.

Minimum requirements include a National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic engineering or equivalent automotive qualification, plus at least 3 years in automotive engineering, vehicle diagnostics and technical analysis.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ post-graduate automotive engineering experience
  • Experience in automotive product support and new model introductions, including investigation, diagnosis and resolution of vehicle issues
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive products, vehicle systems and emerging technologies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain localized service information for the South African market
  • Validate technical information with stakeholders and publish within launch targets
  • Assess engineering changes and new model launches to ensure timely delivery of service information
  • Monitor and improve technical content quality through dealer feedback and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support cost reduction and customer satisfaction through accurate service information and effective repair solutions
  • Coordinate special tool and equipment requirements to ensure dealer readiness for changes and launches

  • Coordinate special tool and equipment requirements to ensure dealer readiness for engineering changes and new product launches
