Job summary

RMG Recruitment (Pty) Ltd seeks a highly experienced Product Design Engineer for the automotive aftermarket sector. The role focuses on design, development, industrialization and deployment of aftermarket products and related sub-assemblies. You will validate designs via DV testing to meet specifications.

Strong background in DFM & APQP, project management, coordination, and effective communication at all levels is required. CAD/CAE proficiency and SAP systems experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant engineering discipline.
• 4-6 years of product engineering and project management in automotive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of DFM & APQP processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Automotive aftermarket concern is seeking a highly experienced Product Design Engineer with the follow prerequisite.

Requirements:

• Design, development, industrialization and implementation of aftermarket products and related sub-assemblies and components.
• Validation of product design by DV testing versus customer and internal engineering specifications.

Education/Experience:

• Degree in relevant engineering discipline
• Product engineering and project management role within the automotive manufacturing industry (4-6 years minimum)

Ability:

• Strong working knowledge of design and engineering principles centered around DFM & APQP processes.
• Proven skills in project management, consulting and negotiation, decision making, control and follow up, organizing and planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively summarize and present to all levels within the organization.
