Job summary

Austell Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join our Johannesburg Supply Chain team. You will support timely product acquisitions, monitor supplier shipments, analyze demand forecasts and help ensure uninterrupted supply.

Key responsibilities include collaborating on demand forecasting, monitoring stock levels, managing supplier orders and liaising with freight forwarders and customs brokers. A Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years in procurement are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• 3-5 years' supply chain/procurement experience, preferably FMCG.
• Experience with demand-planning software and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and data-analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop accurate demand forecasts.
• Analyse historical sales data, market trends, demand patterns, lead times and minimum order quantities.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust procurement plans to minimise stockouts and excess inventory.
• Place and manage supplier orders, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Track manufacturing dates, dispatches and import documentation.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers and logistics providers.
• Monitor supplier performance and elevate delivery or supply issues.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement, forecasting and inventory processes.
• Maintain accurate supplier, importation and customs-related documentation.
