Hire Far Out in Gauteng is seeking a Procurement Manager to own procurement for its Gauteng division. You will lead strategy, negotiate terms with suppliers, and manage spend analysis to achieve cost savings while ensuring quality.

You will oversee inventory, stores, assets and fleet controls, mentor a small procurement team, and collaborate with operations to support project delivery and BB-BBEE objectives.

Drive cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, spend analysis and smarter sourcing.

Role Overview

An established engineering and contracting business is hiring a Procurement Manager to take ownership of procurement for its Gauteng division.

Reporting to the Divisional Financial Director, you will lead procurement strategy, commercial negotiations, supplier performance and cost optimisation while working closely with operational teams. You will also oversee inventory, asset and fleet controls, and lead a small team across procurement administration and stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the divisional procurement strategy across sourcing, supplier selection and purchasing.
• Negotiate commercial terms and pricing while ensuring required quality and service standards are maintained.
• Manage supplier performance across delivery, specification, pricing and ongoing service levels.
• Analyse spend, market trends and procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and reduce supply-chain risk.
• Manage procurement compliance and maintain the documentation and reporting required to support B-BBEE procurement objectives.
• Oversee inventory and stores processes, together with appropriate controls for company assets and fleet.
• Lead the procurement, warehousing and logistics function while partnering with operational teams to meet project and business requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• 8+ years' proven procurement experience.
• CIPS would be advantageous.
• 3+ years' experience managing a procurement team.
• Strong track record in strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation and supplier management.
• Commercial and analytical experience across spend analysis, cost optimisation and procurement forecasting, supported by advanced Excel skills.
• Experience in an operational procurement environment involving inventory, stores, asset or fleet management would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of procurement compliance and B-BBEE procurement requirements.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.

Salary & Benefits

• R650,000 - R840,000 CTC per year
