Job summary

Samancor is seeking a procurement-focused professional to ensure optimal sourcing and timely availability of quality goods and services across the Chrome business unit. The role emphasizes risk assessment, supplier management, and adherence to internal controls within a dynamic procurement environment.

The successful candidate will handle daily buying, tender execution, and invoice query support while driving savings and process improvements in line with Samancor Chrome Systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and ensure customer satisfaction and competitive practice throughout the Samancor Chrome environment.
• Optimal procurement for the respective plant areas
• Negotiate terms and conditions.
• Execution and adjudication of tenders and site meetings
• Daily buying
• Expediting of open orders and RFQ’s
• Maintain and enforce internal control and procurement procedures.
• Assist Accounts Payable Department with Invoice Queries
• Obtain savings through the procurement process.

Job description

To ensure optimal sourcing and timeous availability of quality goods and services to meet the Business Unit’s requirements.

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
