Join our Projects Department as a Procurement Buyer and play a key role in ensuring materials and equipment are sourced efficiently, accurately, and on time. This role requires a highly experienced individual ready to elevate procurement operations.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
What you can expect to do as an Procurement Buyer:
- Procurement and Buying
- Supplier and Contract Management
- Stock, Logistics and Expediting
- Cost Control, Compliance and Reporting
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience:
- 3 – 5 years buying / procurement experience, preferably within the HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical or building services contracting environment
- Proven experience sourcing HVAC plant, equipment, spares and consumables
- Experience procuring for project-based work against BOQs, drawings and equipment schedules
- Experience in supplier negotiation and the appointment of subcontractors
- Working experience on an ERP / accounting system (e.g. Sage, Buildsmart, SAP, Syspro or similar)
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Certificate or Diploma in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Logistics (advantageous)
- Trade or technical background in HVAC / refrigeration (advantageous)
- Driver’s license

- HVAC and refrigeration plant, equipment, components, materials and terminology
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, equipment schedules, drawings and bills of quantities
- Procurement principles, purchasing cycle and supply chain processes
- Supplier and subcontractor market within the HVAC and building services industry
- Refrigerant types, handling, storage and the statutory requirements applicable to their purchase
- Relevant standards and legislation – SANS, OHS Act, Pressure Equipment Regulations, ODS Regulations
- Costing, mark-up, margin and basic financial administration
- Preferential procurement and B-BBEE requirements
- Microsoft Office toolset
