Job summary

SA Metal Group in Cape Town seeks a Procurement Administrator to support and coordinate procurement activities. You will process requests, maintain supplier data, manage supplier applications and purchase orders, and generate procurement reports with accuracy.

Strong admin skills, ERP/MRP knowledge and excellent communication are essential for timely delivery in a heavy industrial environment. The role reports to the National Procurement Manager.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ administrative experience in procurement or supply chain.
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environments.
• Computer literate, with strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Fraxion and Accpac experience advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Processing and managing procurement‑related requests and transactions.
• Maintaining accurate supplier information and documentation.
• Managing supplier applications, credit processes, and approvals.
• Processing purchase orders, stock transactions, invoices, and related documentation.
• Maintaining procurement reports, stock records, and savings‑related information.
• Providing general administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the procurement function.
