Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Procurement Buyer to strengthen procurement operations. You will manage end-to-end sourcing, negotiate terms with suppliers and drive cost savings while ensuring supply continuity for critical manufacturing inputs.

The role reports to the Group Procurement Manager and requires extensive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and ERP/MRP usage. A hands-on, results-driven professional is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in procurement or supply chain management.
• Minimum 8 years procurement experience.
• Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
• Engineering background or automotive experience advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for assigned commodities and services.
• Source suppliers through tenders and quotations; negotiate terms.
• Maintain supplier performance and drive cost savings.
• Prepare procurement reports and KPI dashboards for management.
• Ensure governance and SOP compliance across procurement activities.
