Placements24 is seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join our Richards Bay team. The role focuses on safe design, operation, and maintenance of chemical processes, with responsibility for robust safety management systems and hazard analyses.

You will lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA), drive PSM programs, manage incident investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance while developing safety training for staff in a demanding industrial setting in Richards Bay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of process safety experience in chemical/petrochemical industries.
• Knowledge of PSM elements and risk assessment methods.
• Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and relief device design.
• Familiarity with OSHA/NFPA codes and standards.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
