Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Process Safety Chemical Engineer to join our client’s team in Stellenbosch. The role focuses on safe design, operation and maintenance of chemical processes, reducing risks associated with hazardous materials.

You will conduct PHAs, develop PSM programs, investigate incidents, and promote a robust safety culture across site operations in Stellenbosch. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of process safety engineering experience in chemical/petrochemical industry.
• Experience with PHAs and SIS concepts.
• Familiarity with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP standards.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for conducting safety assessments, developing safety procedures, and promoting a robust safety culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessments.
• Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) programs and procedures.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Provide technical expertise on process safety design for new projects and modifications.

Requirements
