About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial Process Optimization Engineer to join their innovative team based in George, Western Cape. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing production processes, supply chains, and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for optimization.
• Develop and implement strategic process improvements using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
• Utilize statistical analysis and data modeling to quantify process performance and predict outcomes of proposed changes.
• Design and document new or revised processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams to implement process changes and ensure smooth transitions.
• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired performance levels.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, outlining findings, recommendations, and the projected return on investment for optimization projects.
• Identify opportunities for automation and technology integration to further enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout all operational processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or operations management, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (certification is a strong plus).
• Proficiency in data analysis, statistical software (e.g., Minitab), and process simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different levels of the organization.
• Experience with hybrid work models and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
