Placements24 is seeking a Process Development Chemical Engineer for its Port Elizabeth operations. Translate laboratory discoveries into scalable, robust manufacturing processes and support full-scale production across the process development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for solving problems in a dynamic industrial environment. You will collaborate with R&D, engineering and manufacturing teams to drive successful technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development or chemical process engineering.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Strong understanding of chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena.
• Proven ability to scale up chemical processes safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments to develop and optimize chemical processes for new and existing products.
• Perform process modeling and simulation to predict performance and identify potential issues.
• Scale up processes from laboratory to pilot plant and ultimately to commercial production.
• Analyze process data to ensure product quality, yield, and efficiency targets are met.
• Develop and implement process control strategies and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
