Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Process Development Chemist to join their client’s R&D team in Centurion. You will develop and optimize synthetic routes, scale-up processes, and analytical methods to support product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

The role requires a strong background in organic chemistry, experience with HPLC, GC, NMR, and MS, and collaboration with engineers to ensure safe, scalable processes and robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in synthetic organic chemistry and process development.
• Proficiency with HPLC, GC, NMR and MS for product characterization.
• Familiarity with process safety principles and hazard analysis.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize synthetic routes for new compounds.
• Execute laboratory-scale experiments and scale-up to pilot/production.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for quality control.
• Conduct stability studies and investigate process deviations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on process design and safety.
