You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot mechanical aspects of chemical processing plants and equipment, ensuring efficiency, safety, and reliability of production processes.

The role requires a strong background in process engineering, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science, with hands-on experience in process equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• 4-8 years of experience in mechanical or process engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science.
• Experience with process equipment design and selection.
• Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools is advantageous.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify mechanical systems and equipment for chemical processing, including reactors, pumps, piping, and heat exchangers.
• Perform process simulations and engineering calculations to optimize system performance and efficiency.
• Ensure mechanical designs comply with industry safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with process engineers to develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and equipment specifications.
• Select appropriate materials of construction based on process requirements and chemical compatibility.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and process inefficiencies, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and process modifications.
• Contribute to HAZOP studies and other risk assessment processes.
